The Michigan Department of Transportation (MDOT) is committed to providing the highest quality integrated transportation service for economic benefit and improved quality of life. Funding for Revive I-275 is made possible by Governor Gretchen Whitmer's Rebuilding Michigan bond program focused on state highways and bridges that are critical to Michigan’s economy and carry the most traffic.
This 23.5-mile stretch of I-275 is almost 50 years old, and the original concrete pavement is deteriorated and paved over with asphalt.
Sixty-five bridges are also in need of repair (bridge surface, barriers, piers, and beams).
